Abstract

Gender equality remains a global concern, with evident disparities in politics, economics, and education. As a reflection of society, sports illustrate the evolving dynamics of gender relations. This study investigates the persistent challenges faced by women in sports, including limited participation opportunities, unequal distribution of resources, and underrepresentation in leadership roles. Through literature review and case studies, the research traces the historical evolution of gender inequality in sports and examines its current manifestations. Findings indicate that while progress has been made in women’s sports, deeply rooted gender biases still obstruct further advancement. The study highlights how inclusive policies, media visibility, and educational programs can effectively promote gender inclusivity in sports. By addressing both structural and cultural barriers, this research emphasizes the potential of sports as a transformative tool for gender empowerment. Ultimately, it offers multi-level recommendations involving governments, sports institutions, and media to collectively foster a more gender-equitable sporting environment. The study contributes meaningful insights to the ongoing discourse on achieving gender equity through sports.
